Now, Lupe has taken a long overdue sabbatical, focusing on her own mental health. What she’s learned during this time can help us all prioritize our own selves. And, if a self-imposed break is not something you can (or want to) do right now (I’m with you there), Lupe offers some small everyday actions we can take to bring more joy, balance and peace into our lives.

Guadalupe Hirt is a four-time entrepreneur, pro-aging advocate, speaker, blogger, and middlescence life strategist. Most recently, she was the co-founder and CCO of SecondActWomen, a pro-age global community for women 40 & 50+. Through education, events, membership, and community, she helped shift ageists perspectives, inspired bold thinking, and created age-inclusive spaces that rallied women over 40 to excel in business, career, and life.
Through her work with SecondActWomen, Hirt graced virtual and in-person stages like Denver Startup Week, General Assembly, Microsoft, Startup Grind Denver, Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Zayo. Hirt was featured in media outlets like Forbes, Next Avenue, NPR Denver affiliate, The Denver Post, Business Den, Daily Blast Live, and Lioness. She is a 2021 Facebook Community Accelerator Alum and 2021 Next Avenue Influencer in Aging Honoree.
Prior to SecondActWomen, she was an Associate Producer at Project Eñye, an interactive, story-driven, multi-platform, documentary project featuring first-person narratives from first generation American-born Latinos, also known as Eñyes. She starred in the award-winning, short-subject documentary Being Eñye that explored the intersection of culture, identity and belonging. During this time, she also co-authored a cultural workbook to help middle school and high school teachers facilitate first-generation conversations in the classroom.
Her entrepreneurial journey began in 1991 when she launched MindSpeak to provide public relations strategy and programming to drive results for clients in hospitality, travel, and tourism. Soon after, she co-launched RedSlate Studios, a video production agency, and then went on to co-launch DECIBEL Marketing, a marketing and public relations firm in 2016.
A California native, she graduated from Santa Clara University and now resides in Colorado.
